⚠️ The past participle can easily be confused with the preterit
The past participle can be used for three different things.
- Adjectives → my broken leg hurts, the ruined cake
- Passive voice → the cake was cut, the party was stopped
- Present perfect → She has become stronger, I have lived here for two years

indeed, the rule for the preterit and the past participle is exactly the same. however, irregular verbs are different. check the correct column in the irregular verbs list.
